Saturday – EC Day 1
Saturday’s EC Day 1 tournament is one of the main events of the European Championship as the best way to qualify for Day 2, where the European champion will be decided. Good performance will be rewarded, as players, counting top-down from the final standings, will qualify for Day 2 to fill 50 players. Please note that those already qualified through the LCQ on Friday or winning a Grand Prix Tour tournament can’t gain another place for Day 2.
Don’t worry if you’re not one of the lucky ones to qualify – you’re still more than welcome to participate in Sunday’s Best of the Rest tournament!
As all tournaments during European Championship 2022, EC Day 1 follows the official tournament rules. A valid Ropecon ticket is required.

Registration is done by hand at the judges’ desk. Please respect the schedule and register yourself in person as soon as possible. Be on time to avoid excessive queues.

Note
There are three ways to qualify for Day 2 on Sunday: winning a Grand Prix Tour tournament, reaching the final of Friday’s Last Chance Qualifier, or performing well on Day 1, as mentioned above. 50 players will qualify for Day 2. How many will enter Day 2 from Day 1 depends on the attendance of the GP Tour and the LCQ qualifiers.
By default, 40 will qualify from Day 1. Absent qualifiers from previous tournaments will be filled in from Day 1 players. For example, in case one player from both the GP Tour, as well as the LCQ, is absent from Day 2, 42 top players from Day 1 will qualify.
